For World Toilet Day Hennops Blue Horizon partnered with Life 4 U Foundation in Tembisa. Up at sparrows we met manager Simon at the Foundation. The word that comes to mind when describing Simon is legendary. He got us into the thick of things going from door to door in the township demonstrating how to keep one’s toilet clean. Hennops Blue distributed pamphlets on how to prevent sewer blockages.
Each household was donated a toilet brush, toilet cleaner and hand wash soap. (Thank you to www.smartgreenpeople.co.za for the discounted rates on the earth friendly toilet cleaner and hand wash soap. Simon was amazed at how well the product washed the toilets and how delicious it smelt!) We were received with grace and enthusiasm!
Before the toilet demo we met with the Department of Water and Sanitation and Joburg Water at Rebonwe Primary to give the children a talk on the importance of washing hands and saving and protecting water. The campaign ended with a further hand washing demonstration and water conservation information sharing in Ivory Park. A picture says a thousand words so here goes:
